Avid Volunteer from Canada wins May’s Student of the Month

A true role model in her school and on the Goodwall community, Alex showcased everything a student of the month profile should contain. Her countless hours of volunteering, her involvement in her school’s soccer team, her passion for violin, and to top it all off, a member of the student council.

Alex is a pioneer within the Goodwall community, joining during the first weeks of the launch of the app. She grew and developed just as the community did, continuously adding to her profile. All her efforts were not in vain as they culminated in the grand prize: the $1000 and the recognition of being a standout student among over 600,000.

Naturally, Alex became a Goodwall Ambassador which she said allowed her to develop her leadership skills as she networked around her school to spread the word. This skills were further developed she became a Country leader where her responsibilities where extended to communicating with other schools and ambassadors in her region. She hopes that all this experience will add to (already incredible) CV and be enough to impress the likes of the University of Toronto and Yale where she hopes to study medicine. Sticking to the medical theme, her next big challenge is to raise $1000 for her local hospital.

As is tradition with every Goodwall winner, we asked her one specific question: What would you say to a student who has just joined the community? She answered: “Visit the community tab and get inspired by what other people are doing. Take a look at their causes and their ideas.”

Congratulations Alex and we wish you all the best!
